Disclosures & how we make money

Who runs this site

RatedHomeContractor is operated by ADSEO Corporation, a federally incorporated digital marketing agency registered in British Columbia.

How we make money

• Featured ($49 per month, per city and category): a labelled "Sponsored" spot at the top of a city and category page, at most 3 per page. It never changes score or rank.
• Business Confirmed ($99 per year): a paid check of business details. The badge lists exactly what was checked. It never changes score or rank and does not mean licensed or insured unless that check is listed.
• Premium ($129 per month): Business Confirmed plus Featured in two places.
• Advertising: home-related advertisers (not contractors) may buy one slot labelled "Advertisement" on some pages. Never on contractor profiles and never inside a ranked list.
• Lead requests: not offered. If we ever add them, the form will say who pays and how much.

We do not sell rankings, scores or reviews. Basic listings and licence checks are free. Full plan details: For pros.

Conflict of interest: ADSEO Corporation

Because ADSEO Corporation is a marketing agency, some listed businesses may also be ADSEO Corporation clients. To keep rankings trustworthy:

1. Scores are calculated by code from public data, using the same formula for everyone. Nobody can manually change a score or rank.
2. Every ADSEO Corporation client is labelled "ADSEO Corporation marketing client" on its listing and profile.
3. ADSEO Corporation never sells better rankings, badges or placement other than labelled Sponsored placements available to every business on the same terms.
4. ADSEO Corporation does not write, buy or solicit reviews for clients on this site.
